The temples of Śrīnātha and Kāśī-Viśveśvara are situated within a shared temple complex at Talegaon-Dhamdhere and enjoy significant fame in the surrounding regions. Both temples are well-maintained, and their premises are notably magnificent. The entire complex is constructed on the right bank of the River Veḷu and is enclosed by a robust fortification wall. These walls feature two key entrances: one to the east and another to the south.

The eastern entrance serves as the primary entry point and is characterized by a large arched gateway. Upon entering through the eastern gateway, visitors find themselves within the temple complex where additional enclosure walls are evident, both to the immediate left and within the temple area. These are believed to be part of the original architectural design, as are similar walls with pillars situated at the rear of the temple complex. A few steps upward from the main entrance, a secondary fencing wall with another gateway appears. This is thought to be a later addition to the temple complex. Adjoining this later gateway are arched compartments. Staircases near these compartments allow visitors to climb to the ramparts of the external fortification wall. In summary, the temple complex is a blend of original and later architectural elements, distinguished by its multiple layers of walls and gateways.

Kāśī-Viśveśvara Temple (18.669755, 74.152466): According to anecdotes and legends prevalent in the village, Śrīnātha belonged to the Kāsār caste and was a member of the Nātha sect. He was in the business of selling bangles. He worshipped Kāśī-Viśveśvara with great devotion. It is believed that Kāśī-Viśvanātha himself appeared when Śrīnātha attained samādhi at this place.

Architecture: The ground plan of the temple consists of nandīmaṇḍapa, sabhāmaṇḍapa , and garbhagṛha. The size of the nandīmaṇḍapa is 134 cm x 134 cm. After crossing the nandīmaṇḍapa, we come to the sabhāmaṇḍapa of the temple. The size of the hall is 385 cm x 385 cm, and it has an entrance in the north, south, and east directions. There is a total of six niches in the hall. Also, its vitāna tapers like a pyramid. Images of Gaṇeśa are carved at the entrance of the sabhāmaṇḍapa and garbhagṛha. The entrance to the garbhagṛha is simple and has a Marathi inscription carved on its top.  The inscription slab is 29 cm high and 40 cm wide. According to the inscription, Shambhu Yati Baba built this temple in the śaka era in 1657 (?). The inscription comprises six lines, and some text in the sixth line is tough to read. The moon and sun are carved on both sides of the inscription. The inscription reads-

|| श्री सके १६५७

|| युवा संवछर फा

|| लगुण वदि सोम

|| वार देउळ बांधले

|| संभुजति बाबाने

Śrīnātha Temple: The temple of Śrīnātha is adjacent to the Kāśī-Viśveśvara temple. It is simple, and the overall structure consists of a mukhamaṇḍapa, sabhāmaṇḍapa, and garbhagṛha. Stones for the temple construction seem to be abundantly available in the riverbed. Some unfinished sculptures and half-cut stone boulders are observed on the river bed. The śikhara of Śrīnātha temple is higher than the Kāśī-Viśveśvara temple. The original śikhara has been restored recently. A big ghat has been built in the Veḷu River.

Śrīnātha temple is a very famous temple. A sizeable annual yātra is held here on the occasion of Mahāśivarātrī. A palanquin procession is taken out throughout the village. Shri Pandurang Gurav is the priest of these temples. The people of the Māḷī community also serve the temple. It is essential to protect the structures on the temple premises. If we see at the other temples in Talegaon Dhamdhere, it seems that the Śrīnātha and Kāśī-Viśveśvara temples may have been built in the late 18th century CE.
